This Privacy Policy describes how Jelwan handles personal information collected and processed through the platform when used by schools, students and administrators.
For the cloud-hosted service, the educational institution remains the primary data controller for student and staff data. Jelwan acts as a data processor in accordance with the institution's instructions and applicable laws.
Jelwan is a cloud-hosted service. Exam and user data are stored in Jelwan-managed infrastructure with encryption in transit and at rest; institutions retain ownership and control through contractual terms and administrative tools.
The platform supports encrypted connections (HTTPS), role-based access control and password hashing. Institutions are responsible for securing their infrastructure, backup procedures and server access.
Retention periods are defined by each institution’s internal policy. The software provides tools to archive or delete data as required by local regulations.
By default, Jelwan does not send exam data to external third-party services. Optional integrations may require limited data sharing, subject to institution approval.
Students, parents and staff may have rights to access, correct or delete their personal data depending on local laws. Such requests should be directed to the institution’s data protection or IT team.
For questions about this Privacy Policy or data protection in relation to Jelwan, please contact your institution’s administrator or email info@jelwan.net.
